Major Accountabilities:

• Assists with identifying and communicating about policy and key issues for each of Valero’s facilities.
• Assists with research and planning for upcoming elections, employee involvement, legislative sessions.
• Assists with strategies to promote public policy positions to benefit Valero.
• Assists with researching representation at federal, state, and local level for each of Valero’s facilities.
• Assists with written summaries of legislative and regulatory activities and developments of interest to Valero.
• Assists with monitoring the legislative and regulatory environment in order to identify, evaluate, analyze and report major changes and emerging issues which could have a significant impact upon the company.

Position will be located in: Washington DC

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, or higher degree, in business or related major, preferable political science or government. * Overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred. * Obtained at least 60 credit hours by the start of internship required. * Graduation dates with either your bachelor's or higher degree of August 2025 through May 2027 required. * Understanding of the legislative and regulatory process preferred. * Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods preferred. * Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
