Valero is looking for an Associate Accounting Coordinator to join the team at the Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. The Associate Accounting Coordinator will ensure the timely and accurate processing and reporting of refined product purchase and sale transactions for international refineries and terminals. This role monitors customer accounts receivable and vendor accounts payable for accuracy, timely processing, and clearing of transactions.

• Analyzes and records non trade transactions in SAP.
• Coordinates with corporate and field personnel to ensure proper recording/classification of transactions in the financial statements.
• Processes approved cost items for timely payment. Monitors status of open items and optimizes prompt payment discounts.
• Establishes and maintains regular communication with vendors.
• Reconciles vendor statements to Valero’s financial statements.
• Assists or prepares accrual information for monthly accounting cycle.
• Researches and reconciles assigned non-trade GL accounts.
• Assists with the day-to-day accounting activities, which may include analyzing a variety of transactions, compiling data and providing a resolution to management and/or other internal/external customers.
• Participates in various projects to improve overall department efficiency and effectiveness.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:
* Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio Headquarters, required. * High School Diploma or GED required. * Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Accounting preferred. * 1 year of Accounting experience preferred. * Refinery or related experience preferred.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
