Valero Supervisor AV Technical Projects in SAN ANTONIO, Texas
Description:
Provides direct technical support on the design, installation, and maintenance of all IT-based physical security, audio-visual, and select technical projects. Assists with developing strategic budgets and forecasts for projects and directs the development of training and policies to ensure the efficient operation of installed equipment. Manages subcontractor activities and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations.
- Oversees the project management lifecycle for audio-visual, plant alarm, radio systems, IP paging systems, and digital signage services and select technical projects from conception through completion that includes assessing business requirements, scoping and planning projects and initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, tracking and reporting project status, managing deliverables, and assessing customer satisfaction.
- Assists with the development of strategic budgeting, project forecasting, AFE development and DRB reviews; coordinates initiatives between the Exec Dir of Global Security Operations/Construction Management and refinery management.
- Assists with the issuance of RFP documents and selection of qualified contractors; serves as a liaison with Supply Chain for contract validation and MSAs.
- Coordinates with various departments to understand AV and Plant Alarm system needs.
- Supervises AV and Plant Alarm installations, providing direction, training and support.
- Schedules and assigns tasks to team members, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Oversees the setup, operation, and maintenance of AV and Plant Alarm equipment.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Stays updated on the latest AV and Plant Alarm technologies/ trends.
- Implements new technologies and best practices to improve service delivery.
- Provides technical support and guidance to team members.
- Manages relationships with external and internal vendors and contractors improving AV and Plant Alarm services.
- Maintains detailed records of AV and Plant Alarm setups, equipment maintenance, and related activities.
- Generates regular reports on AV and Plant Alarm service performance, including metrics on efficiency, cost savings, and impact.
- Ensures all AV and Plant Alarm operations comply with health and safety regulations.
- Conducts regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Serves as a liaison between field engineering groups and Facility & Administrative Services; ensures corporate compliance with refinery standards and processes throughout all phases of project development and construction.
- Approves typical internal engineering and installation drawing packages; ensures compliance with regulatory, Valero, and industry standards.
- Represents the Department as an expert or resource to cross-functional projects and report to senior management on the unit's production, activities, and efforts.
- Confers with Global Security Operations and Corporate Health and Safety to formulate policies and training regarding the use and maintenance of Audio-Visual and Plant Alarm systems.
- Ensures compliance with all government technical regulations throughout Valero’s network of refineries, terminals, and administration buildings.
- Provides dynamic leadership to hire and develop team members by setting periodic personal development as well as project goals, evaluating results, and providing feedback on needed improvements.
- This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED required
* 8 years of experience in the following area(s) required:
o Experience with advanced AV technology to include design and planning functions; i.e.. developing projects requiring a high degree of both mechanical and logical expertise; including control system architecture and system design, including plant alarm systems and collaborating with Petro-Chemical Refinery Security, Safety, and Operations teams
o 5 years of experience in a supervisory/management role
* Bachelor’s or higher level degree - Engineering, Design, or related field preferred.
* Experience with chemical industry construction, engineering and design standards (API and Shell Engineering Standards), and contractor validation preferred.
* Vendor management experience as it relates to governance, transition, and performance management preferred.
* Managing applications in a structured environment supporting multiple server/client-side platforms including Windows, Linux, and SQL preferred.
* Developing projects requiring a high degree of both mechanical and logical expertise; including control system architecture and system design preferred.
* Required to possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within specified timeframe
* Required to possess or be able to obtain a valid Driver's License within specified timeframe
* Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

o Biamp – Tesira FORTE
o CTS
o CTS-I
o CTS-D
